Message on social media initiative

Dear ABH members

as part of the council’s ongoing commitment to improve the visibility of the Association, we have now started a social media initiative which may be of interest to you. The ABH now has a Facebook page – facebook.com/abhistorian – and a linked Twitter account: @the_abh. We are also currently developing an online newspaper and will circularise members in due course.
We hope that members will find the new communication channels beyond our website, www.abh-net.org, and the mailing list maintained by Christine Leslie useful. We will obviously continue to use these to pass on important information to our members, but hope that the social media initiative will open up new avenues for informal discussions and collaborations between members and other interested academics outside of regular conferences.
The council wishes to thank Bernardo Batiz-Lazo, Kevin Tennent and Niall MacKenzie for their invaluable work in setting up the Facebook and Twitter accounts.
