Call for papers Third EREH Fast Track Meeting, deadline July 15

EREH Fast Track Meeting, London, 13.12.2012

The first Fast Track meetings were held in 2008 and 2010 in Paris and Lisbon,
organized by the European Historical Economics Society. They resulted in the
publication of several high quality papers in the European Review of Economic
History. Decisions were made within a few months of submission. Following the
success of these meetings, the European Review of Economic History announces
the third Fast Track workshop, to be held in London on December 13, 2012.

The idea of the workshop is to combine feedback and coaching to junior
scholars working in economic history with a chance to see their article
appear in print quickly. To this end, we aim to offer authors a fast and firm
response on their submissions within a little more than four months. Junior
scholars (those no more than 5 years from completion of their Ph.D.) are
especially encouraged to apply, but submissions from more experienced
scholars will also be accepted. Those interested should submit their papers
to EREH, via Editorial Express, or to Sevket Pamuk (s.pamuk ), no
later than July 15. If submitting through Editorial Express, please mention
in the cover letter that you would like the paper to be considered for Fast
Track.

Authors will receive reports and an editorial decision by late September.
Authors will be requested to revise their papers in light of comments
received, and to present their revised article at the workshop. Revised
papers should be re-submitted by no later than 13th November, 2012. The "fast
track" workshop itself will take place on December 13, 2012. Senior scholars
(EREH editors and other members of the European Historical Economics Society)
will act as discussants. The editors aim to make a final decision shortly
after the workshop ends, based on the feedback from the referees, the general
discussion, and their own views on the paper. The process will require a high
level of commitment from both authors and referees/discussants.

Limited funding for travel and accommodation will be available.
