The University of Oxford intends to make an appointment to the Professorship of Economic History as soon as possible. This post offers the successful candidate the exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the study of economic history and to provide academic leadership in the field.
The Professor of Economic History will be a member of the University and will hold a Professorial Fellowship at Nuffield College, and will be expected to play an active role in both communities.
The University of Oxford is internationally recognised as being one of the very best institutions worldwide for the study of economic history, and Nuffield College is dedicated to the pursuit of the social sciences. The postholder will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research environment which performs to the highest international levels in research and publications, and will have access to the excellent research facilities which Oxford offers.
The successful applicant will be a scholar and teacher of international distinction with an outstanding record of research and publication in economic history with a proven record of raising substantial research funding.
