Job opening: Assistant professor, Middlebury College
Publicado: 27.09.2015 Archivado en: Becas, premios y ofertas de trabajo / Fellowships, prizes and job offers Comentarios desactivados en Job opening: Assistant professor, Middlebury CollegeWe encourage Eh.net readers on the market this winter to apply. We will have some preference for candidates who bring a broad historical perspective to policy, especially macroeconomic policy. With two economic historians already in residence and a core requirement in economic history, ours is a vibrant department that recognizes the importance of economic history.
The Economics Department seeks to appoint its first Jones Fellow in Applied Economics, a named junior professorship, beginning in September 2016. The Jones Fellow will teach and conduct research on the design and performance of economic policies, both past and present. There is some preference for scholars who work on policies with either a national or international scope – traditional macroeconomic policies, for example, especially monetary and financial policies – but the terms are broad enough to include scholars interested, or with experience in, the implementation of other sorts of policies.
The appointment will be made at the assistant or advanced assistant professor level. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to research and teaching excellence with a strong policy focus in a liberal arts environment.
Middlebury College is a top-tier liberal arts college with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in faculty teaching and research. An Equal Opportunity Employer, the College is committed to hiring a diverse faculty as we work to foster innovation in our curriculum and to provide a rich and varied educational experience to our increasingly diverse student body.
